Caitlyn & Sarabeth

Owners Caitlyn & Sarabeth

Caitlyn Purcell and Sarabeth Drover are cousins, business partners and best friends.  They share a love of beautiful handmade things, good coffee, fine food and drink and time with family and friends.

They were fortunate to have grown up spending their childhood summers seaside along the picturesque shores of Ingonish. They are proud of their island upbringing and have always felt an incredibly strong connection to Ingonish. After leaving the island to go to school, travel and work they both found themselves always drawn back.  This place and it's beauty is magnetic for them.

Caitlyn is an accomplished jeweler and made the move back to Cape Breton over eight years ago. She opened the original Salty Rose’s, a beautiful and airy art & craft shop. Sarabeth had been working in customer service and the restaurant industry for many years. They soon began daydreaming of a business that could combine both their talents and shared interests.

When the building that now houses the business came up for sale, they knew it was the one. It is practically a stone’s throw from their family’s property and was full of potential and charm.  They knew they could create a space that was bright, beachy and relaxing.  The inspiration for the business comes from the sea, the sun and working side-by-side with one another.
